The militarists, corporatists, oligarchs, politicians, academics and media conglomerates champion identity politics and diversity because it does nothing to address the systemic injustices or the scourge of permanent war that plague the U.S. It is an advertising gimmick, a brand, used to mask mounting social inequality and imperial folly.
In January of 2023, the 34-foot wooden sailboat the Golden Rule, a project of Veterans for Peace, traveled Havana to express friendship and solidarity with the Cuban people. The Golden Rule calls for “lifting the decades-old U.S. blockade of Cuba, reminding people how close the world came to nuclear war during the Cuban missile crisis of 1962 and making parallel connections to the U.S.-Russian standoff in Ukraine today.” We Are All in the Same Boat."

Feminists: What Were They Thinking? is a documentary film directed by Johanna Demetrakas and starring Laurie Anderson, Phyllis Chesler and Judy Chicago among others. Women of different ages and backgrounds are interviewed by Demetrakas and a team of assistants on the subject of feminism, anchored in the book 'Emergence' with portraits by the photographer Cynthia MacAdams published in 1977.
